Pondering Choseness

Chosen to love
   God and neighbor.

Chosen to serve
  and proclaim.

Chosen to include
  and embrace.

Chosen to hold
   the tensions.

Chosen to be
  the love and
  mercy of God.

Chosen to discern
   what is wise
   and just.

Chosen to be
   present and witness
   pain and suffering.

Chosen to see
   differently,
   beyond systems
   of injustice.

Chosen to be
   with and
   in solidarity
   with those
   on the margins.

Chosen not
   to aspire
   for privilege.

Chosen not
    to forfeit integrity
    for success.

Chosen to bear
  the responsibility
   of Micah 6:8.

Chosen “only
   to do justice and
   to love goodness,
   and to walk humbly
   with God.”
