Thank You!
Thank you for accompanying me on the journey of Leslye’s Labyrinth!
Whether you are a paid or free subscriber, thank you!
Whether we have known each other for decades or months, thank you!
During Advent of 1998, I was inspired to begin writing and designing Christmas cards under the name Leslye Wrytes. Over the next decade, I published a collection of more than 200 greeting cards before beginning to sporadically write a blog.
Years later Leslye Wrytes became Leslye’s Labyrinth as my body’s intergenerational trauma was aroused with the murders of Ahmaud Aubery, Sandra Bland, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and others. There was an urgency for me to write boldly in response to the signs of the time from my lived experience as a woman in a Black body who is also Catholic. The name change acknowledged my commitment to write “from my African-American Catholic heart.” This year, I realized that through writing, I am “transcending my African-American Catholic heart.”
Today, I am surprised and delighted by my writing over the last six months. It is both healing and liberating. Maybe it is for others too. My thoughts are flowing at a frequency that has me jotting notes for future pieces, and I look forward to sharing more with you as ideas and inspirations evolve.
You will soon notice my being more interactive with you on Leslye’s Labyrinth. Each posting includes an opportunity for you to “like” or comment. I appreciate that several of you regularly offer a ❤️ or a 👍🏾, and some of you comment. Each stirs my heart. As we accompany each other, I will start responding to your comments, and pondering your questions.

In closing, again, I want to thank each of you for reading my words!
